Lover's Leap

Cascading gracefully down a massive rock face in the misty central highlands, Lover’s Leap Waterfall is one of Nuwara Eliya’s most enchanting natural landmarks. Standing at roughly 30 meters high, the waterfall derives its name from a poignant local legend of a royal prince and his lover who leapt from the crest to be together forever. Fed by the pristine mountain streams of Sri Lanka’s highest peak, Pidurutalagala, the falls plunge dramatically over rugged cliffs surrounded by emerald tea plantations, offering travelers a refreshing and highly scenic escape into the hill country.
